We're excited to announce the release of MFA for Domino version 1.4.0, our most comprehensive update yet. This new release brings significant improvements to both security features and user experience, making authentication more accessible and user-friendly than ever before.

Refreshed User Interface

Our 1.4.0 update brings improvements to the MFA interface through Bootstrap 5 implementation. We've enhanced usability across both desktop and mobile platforms while maintaining the core functionality our users rely on. The refreshed UI offers better spacing, improved navigation, and optimized layouts that adapt seamlessly to different screen sizes - making security configuration more accessible without requiring users to learn an entirely new system.

Expanded Authentication Options

Security shouldn't come at the expense of convenience. With this in mind, we've significantly expanded our authentication method support to include:

  • SMS verification - Receive one-time codes via text message

  • Phone call verification - Get authentication codes through automated voice calls

  • Email authentication - Secure your account with email-based verification

  • TOTP integration - Support for Time-based One-Time Password authenticator apps

  • Push verification with Prominic Verify - Our dedicated authentication app available on the App Store for seamless, one-tap authentication

This comprehensive range of options ensures that organizations can implement the authentication methods that best fit their security requirements and user preferences.

Enhanced Password Management

Version 1.4.0 introduces significant improvements to password handling and management:

Visual Password Rules Feedback

The redesigned password change interface provides users with real-time visual feedback on password strength and rule compliance. The clean, intuitive layout clearly displays:

  • Password requirements with visual checkmarks as criteria are met

  • Clear indication of which password rules still need addressing

  • Password match verification between entry fields

This visual approach helps users create stronger passwords while reducing frustration during the password change process.

Password Recovery through Security Questions

Users can now regain access to their accounts through personalized security questions, reducing administrative overhead while maintaining security standards.

Customizable Password Policy Controls

Administrators can now define and enforce organization-specific password policies through an easy-to-use configuration panel, including:

  • Minimum length requirements

  • Character type requirements (uppercase, lowercase, numbers, special characters)

  • Expiration timeframes

This flexibility allows organizations to align authentication with their specific compliance requirements and security frameworks while communicating these rules clearly to end users.

reCAPTCHA Integration

We've added Google reCAPTCHA v3 support to the login form, providing an additional layer of protection against automated attacks while maintaining a seamless user experience.
